I started Shimmer after qualifying in make-up consultancy, as I feel that there are very limited options for women to have professionally applied make-up in the Bristol area. Even though I have been wearing make-up for well over ten years, I was amazed at how much there was still to learn when I was completing my VTCT Make-up and Beauty Consultancy course.

My aim is to ultimately help women to learn how to apply their own make-up so that they enhance their natural beauty and to create a look which makes the best of their features. It’s surprising what a little eyeliner or different colour lipgloss can do!

As a working mother of two, I know that it's often very difficult to juggle everything to ensure that your family is in the right place at the right time, wearing the right kit and having the right things with them! This is why I think it’s more important than ever for women to relax properly and to enjoy the little things in life like being able to have their make-up applied professionally so that they feel beautiful, glamorous and confident.

We all tend to focus on our clothes, hair and accessories when we’re off on a night out, but our make-up is just as important (even more so on some occasions…), and having foundation applied by using a different technique can make all the difference. Make-up products and methods of applying change all the time, and it’s almost impossible to keep up with the latest trends, so I’ve noticed that women have a tendency to stick with the same colours, products and styles which do not suit them for every occasion. I’m here to help women to change the way they look at make-up and to use the latest techniques to make them look the best way they can.
